The Federal Government published guidelines for approving workers compensation claims for employees who have contracted COVID-19. The guidelines state that workers compensation benefits will be awarded to employees who are required to interact with the public. Who are considered to be in high-risk employment. These workers include nurses, medical staff, grocery clerks, drivers, and others whose work requires them to interact with the public.
The full nature and extent of the corona virus is unknown, but early indications suggest that it may cause permanent damage to health.
